Overview

The Hudson Highlander is an ultimate test of navigation and endurance. Metric marathon, 26.2 km, in beautiful Harriman State Park is not for the faint of heart. You will battle rugged Harriman terrain, mountain laurel, and blueberry bushes while trying to keep your head cool for navigation, and it will be technical. Following is permitted.  The precise location for check-in and parking will be announced in the week prior to the event.

The Course

For this mass start event, the course consists of four sections on different Harriman maps with three normal orienteering sections and one trail run to give your head a breather. Prepare yourself for one brutal uphill leg, dubbed King/Queen of the Mountain, the winner (fastest leg split) of which will receive a special prize and title upon finishing.

The Lowlander, a shortened version of around 13 km, will be available for those that are not ready for the grandeur of the Highlander.

There will not be any recreational courses this year.

Course notes are here.
