Welcome to Van Cortlandt Park, in NYC! We hope the weather will be better than last year - when we had all-day-long pouring rain. As before, this event will be on, rain or shine!
This year, besides the regular courses - White, Yellow and Green, we offer a Sprint course on the newly-added portion of the map. Beginner instruction will be available (please see more details under "Registration" section below).
COURSES (by course setter: Stefan Slutsky)
-
WHITE (Beginners) - 1.4km, 10m, 7 controls
-
YELLOW (Intermediate)- 3.5km, 55m, 11 controls
-
this course can be considered a harder YELLOW and easier ORANGE and is good for more experienced beginners.
-
-
SPRINT (Intermediate) - 2.2km, 20m, 12 controls
-
Electronic punching system (SportIdent) will be used for the Sprint course.
-
course difficulty is intermediate but participants are expected (not required) to be moving at a fast "sprinting" pace, which can make navigation more challenging.
-
-
GREEN (Advanced) - 6.8km, 145m, 20 controls
-
Electronic punching system (SportIdent) will be used for the Green course
-
this course could also be considered a harder GREEN and easier RED

The forest is mainly open with patches of thickets and undergrowth. There are many paths and trails.
